Do you ever wonder why people add you to their facebook friends' list when they clearly have no intention of reconnecting with you? Like when someone messages you out of the blue saying they went to elementary school with you...and you think back, and yeah you remember a little ponytailed face that slightly resembles the profile picture...so you add them thinking...hey this might be fun...only they never message you again.
I suppose facebook has reinvented the way we socialise online. You're now expected to keep up with people by going to their facebook pages. It's acceptable to never have any real contact with them. As long as you keep up to date with their walls...that's as good as talking to them without really talking.
